Wildlife Artist of the Year.

I’m delighted to announce I have won the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) Wildlife Artist of the Year 2015! My group of baby warthogs,Sleepyheads won the 3D category and was chosen as the overall competition winner. My award was presented by renowned wildlife artist and conservationist, David Shepherd CBE, and the DSWF CEO, Sally Case.

The piece by Nick Mackman demonstrates her consistency of form and wonderful characterisation and individuality. She moulds as if from the African earth to create such wonderful, living sculpture.

I had previously been named Overall Runner-up and Category Winner for my sculpture Huddle of Pups in 2012 (below).
